MARISA

The MARISA Collection is handcrafted in our Copenhagen workshop, using recycled gemstones and intricate details that celebrate colour, form, and tactile craftsmanship. These are more than just pieces of jewellery—they are a bridge between the stories of the past and the style of today.

The collection blends the vibrant bohemian style of the 1960s with the timeless elegance of antiquity. Inspired by fashion icon Marisa Berenson, whose exotic and playful style has left its mark, each piece is a fusion of creativity and history.

Designed by Shiri Rosenzweig in Kenya, the MARISA Collection also carries the influence of African masks, reflected in their ritualistic and spiritual forms, textures, structures, and craftsmanship. The African landscape—lush trees, vast savannahs, and majestic wildlife such as lions, elephants, giraffes, and monkeys—has further shaped the collection, adding a touch of the continent’s wild beauty.

MARISA - HANDMADE MAGIC

The MARISA Collection merges the vibrant bohemian style of the 1960s with the timeless elegance of antiquity. Inspired by fashion icon Marisa Berenson, whose exotic and playful style has left its mark on this collection, each piece is a fusion of creativity and history.

The MARISA Collection was brought to life in Kenya, where African masks have influenced their design with their ritualistic and spiritual forms, as well as their textures, structures, and craftsmanship. The rich African landscape—lush trees, the vast savannah, and majestic wildlife such as lions, elephants, giraffes, and monkeys—has also shaped the collection, adding a touch of the continent’s untamed beauty.

The collection is primarily handcrafted in our Copenhagen workshop, using recycled gemstones and intricate hand-finished details that celebrate colour, form, and tactile craftsmanship. These are not just pieces of jewellery; they are a bridge between the stories of the past and the style of today.

A WORD FROM FOUNDER & CEO SHIRI ROSENZWEIG

I have been travelling the world since childhood—from the Middle East and Asia to Africa. China, Japan, Thailand, Sri Lanka, Hong Kong, Nepal, Bhutan, India… Each journey has opened doors to a world of colours, craftsmanship, and traditions that have profoundly influenced me. These experiences have enriched my work with gemstones and my passion for colour. I still see the pastel shades that have stayed with me—pink, yellow, orange, turquoise, grass green—hues that bring life, whether in jewellery or art.

Last year, my travels took me to Africa—Kenya, Tanzania, and South Africa. One of the most magical moments was visiting Karen Blixen’s farm in Nairobi, where I could feel her presence and be inspired by her Africa. Blixen has been a great source of inspiration for me, shaping several of my collections.

It wasn’t just the landscape that touched me, but also the people I met. Their joy for life, dance, music, and artistry were vibrant expressions of an ancient culture. I was surrounded by golden hues of clay, wood, copper, and bronze, shaping jewellery and masks that were both beautiful and meaningful.

The colours of Africa were unlike any I had known—sun-drenched yellows, fiery oranges, deep reds, and lime greens—a whole new palette. The Masai patterns, the red dust, and the blazing sun stood in striking contrast to the lush landscapes.

In Kenya, I reconnected with my early jewellery-making days. Playing with beads and gemstones reminded me of how I first began creating jewellery. I discovered beads in every colour of the rainbow, woven into jewellery rich in history and symbolism.

My Marisa Collection unites vivid colours and opulent jewellery, drawing inspiration from both the 1960s and my African experiences. Desert landscapes and strings of beads—a simple yet ancient form of jewellery-making used across cultures for thousands of years. Marisa is a tribute to how travel and life experiences come together in jewellery that tells a story.
