MARISA

The MARISA collection is handmade in our workshop in Copenhagen with recycled gemstones and handmade details that celebrate colors, shapes and tactile craftsmanship. It is not just jewellery, but a bridge between the stories of the past and the style of today.

The collection combines the colorful bohemian style of the 1960s with the timeless elegance of antiquity. Inspired by fashion icon Marisa Berenson, who has left her mark on the collection with her exotic and playful style, each piece of jewellery is a combination of creativity and history. Shiri Rosenzweig has created the MARISA collection in Kenya. African masks have left their own mark on the collection with their ritual and spiritual design as well as their texture, structure and craftsmanship. The African nature with lush trees, the savanna and the wild animals such as lions, elephants, giraffes and monkeys have also characterized the collection, giving it a touch of the continent's wildness.

A WORD FROM FOUNDER AND CEO SHIRI ROSENZWEIG ABOUT THE COLLECTION

I have traveled the world since I was a child – from the Middle East and Asia to Africa. China, Japan, Thailand, Sri Lanka, Hong Kong, Nepal, Bhutan, India… Each trip has opened the doors to a world of colors, crafts and traditions that have had a profound impact on me. These travels have enriched my work with gemstones and my passion for color. I still see the pastel colors that have stuck with me: pink, yellow, orange, turquoise, grass green – colors that bring life, whether adorning a piece of jewelry or an art object.

Last year my travels took me to Africa – Kenya, Tanzania and South Africa. One of the most magical experiences was at Karen Blixen's farm in Nairobi, where I could feel her presence and be inspired by her Africa. Blixen has been a great source of inspiration for me, and her world has been a focal point in several of my collections.

It wasn't just the landscape that touched me, but also the people I met. Their joie de vivre, dance, music and handicrafts were colorful expressions of an ancient culture. I was greeted by golden hues in clay, wood, copper and bronze, which shaped jewelry and masks that were both beautiful and meaningful.

The colors of Africa were different from those I know: sunny yellow, strong orange, bright red and lime green – a whole new palette. The Maasai's terns, the red dust and the hot sun stood in stark contrast to the lush landscapes.

In Kenya, I relived the jewellery production of my youth. I played with beads and gemstones and was reminded of how I first started creating jewelry. I met pearls in all the colors of the rainbow, woven together into jewelry filled with history and symbolism. My Marisa collection combines the bright colors and opulent jewellery with inspiration from the 1960s and my African experiences. Desert landscapes and pearls on a string - a simple jewelry making that has been used for thousands of years across cultures. Marisa is testimony to how travel and life experiences come together in a piece of jewellery that carries a story.
