SPIRITUALITY

Prasiolite is often referred to as a stone with transformative energies. It is said to take negative energies and transform them into positive energies without releasing the negative ones into the atmosphere. The sage green stone is also said to form bridges between the heavenly and natural worlds, creating a channel for healing energies that can help you break bad habits and provide a deeper understanding of yourself.

The prasiolite is connected to your heart chakra, which opens up an intuitive and loving energy.

HOW TO CARE FOR YOUR PRASIOLITE JEWELLERY

The prasiolite is a medium-hard gemstone that is easy to keep beautiful in your jewellery. Prasiolite is stable to light and will not fade in colour, but keep the gemstone away from very high temperatures, as it can split when exposed to too much heat.

Clean your jewellery with Prasiolite with lukewarm water, a mild soap and a soft cloth or brush. It is not recommended to clean your Prasiolite jewellery with an ultrasound cleaner or with steam.

Remember that you can always have your Carré jewellery professionally cleaned at your local Carré shop.

GEMMOLOGY OF PRASIOLITE

Prasiolite is a quartz gemstone that is sometimes also called Green Amethyst. Quartz is colorless, but when it is affected by the earth's elements and temperatures during its formation, it can take on a light green color. When quartz has taken on this color, it is called Prasiolite. When measuring the hardness of a gemstone, you use the Mohs Hardness Scale. The scale varies from 1-10, where 10 is the hardest - here lies the diamond, which is the hardest gemstone. Prasiolite is 7 on the Mohs Hardness Scale.
