Rutile Quartz is found in Brazil, Australia, Sri Lanka, and Pakistan, among others. When measuring the hardness of gemstones, Mohs' Hardness Scale is used. The scale varies from 1-10, with 10 being the hardest. Rutile Quartz is a 7 on Mohs' Hardness Scale.
